Music in Vienna In
July, B&H Sound Services worked with Essex-based
production company CVS International to provide sound
for a corporate conference in Vienna. The event, a daytime
conference followed by an evening programme, included
well-known band Bjorn Again.
CVS International General Manager Ryan Ross said ‘It
was a pleasure to work with a team as professional as
the one provided by B&H. The rig was set up efficiently
and without fuss, and the client was more than happy
with the end result.
‘We’ve got more events in the diary, and
we’ll certainly be working with B&H again
soon.’

| Fodens
and H.M. Royal Marines Recording B&H
Sound Services recently recorded The Fodens Richardson
Band and The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines
during a live concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Despite the Royal Marines Band coach breaking down,
meaning they only took their places during the 3rd piece
of the concert, a superb result was achieved and the
CD has been very well received.
The recording is now available on Egon SFZ 120 titled
‘Britannic Salute’.

Weeks and the Great British Weather The
Summer run of Bible weeks was busier than ever for B&H
Sound Services this year.
All aspects of event staging including PA, lighting,
AV and recording were again provided for the Kingdom
Faith event Faith ‘04 at the Peterborough Showground,
and for the third year running a team and equipment
went to support the Detling Bible Week in Kent.
The most recent addition to the summer calendar was
the New Frontiers youth camp, Newday at the Newark Showground.
B&H provided all the technical equipment including
PA, Lighting, Video, staging, drapes and carpets.
The programme had to change a number of times due
to the risk of flooding, but the B&H team quickly
installed CAT5 links to allow alternative venues to
be used as overflows.
At the end of the day the event was a great success,
and apparently next years is going to be even ‘bigger
and better’.

| Tunbridge
Wells SA Earlier
this year B&H Syscom, the installation division
of B&H Sound Services Ltd, upgraded the existing
sound & video projection system for the Salvation
Army in Tunbridge Wells. The client specification involved
the installation of a number of LCD screens, new cabling
to all outputs, provision of separate rack cabinets
for each system, the addition of a video input switcher
and the tidying up of all the existing cables. Training
was also provided for all the users.
Client Matthew Wickam said ‘The equipment is
great, and as for the install it really couldn’t
have gone any better. The engineers were fantastic,
the training invaluable and it has been a great pleasure
working with B&H’.
B&H were able to provide the complete package,
and the work was completed within budget and on time.

| Delivering
That Extra Over
the last 12 months B&H Sound Services has developed
a close working relationship with Suffolk-based corporate
event specialist Simon Greene Associates.
For two recent conferences B&H provided a range
of sound, AV, lighting and staging solutions. These
demanding events for one of SGA’s top clients
have been a complete success. Simon Greene, Partner
said ‘We find that B&H provide so much more
than a rental company – even the big names.
B&H people are very professional and flexible
to boot; and working alongside them I know we’re
going to have all angles covered – which is great
if like us, you’re dealing with unpredictable
changes or hard deadlines.’
A six-date roadshow has since taken place –
and there are more events in the pipeline.

Making
Music in the Forest...
The
delightful settings of the Center Parcs resorts at Longleat
and Sherwood Forest came alive to the sound of music
in June this year. B&H Sound Services provided PA
systems for the 3-week ‘Music in the Forest’
events. The systems had to cater for a wide variety
of musical styles as well as coping with the great British
weather!
Center Parcs UK Entertainments Controller Heather
Ewing said ‘B&H did a superb job. The sound
quality was excellent, but more than that the engineers
were helpful and enthusiastic and really entered into
the spirit of the event.’

in the Garden Garden
Radio, part of the Garden Communication and Media Company
is expanding and now provides background music and horticultural
news in over 40 garden centres nationwide. Much of the
recording and editing is carried out in the B&H
Old School Studio.
In September B&H provided broadcast facilities
on the Garden Radio stand at the popular GLEE Trade
Exhibition at the NEC. This was the official radio station
and provided live broadcasts for the whole of the three
day show.
Garden Radio MD Trevor Pfieffer said ‘We have
a long and established relationship with B&H Sound
Services, and it is something we value very much. They
are always very responsive and creative, and it certainly
helps us to maintain the quality of our product.’

Finding
Nemo in Mansfield
In
August B&H Sound Services Ltd provided technical
support for Nottingham based production company Creative
io for the outdoor screening of the popular film ‘Finding
Nemo’ to 2000 people in Mansfield. The film was
projected onto a 48ft wide inflatable screen using double
stacked projectors to give a 10000 lumen high definition
image. This, combined with the Dolby 5.1 surround sound
system made for a dramatic effect.
Creative io producer Gavin Forster said ‘It
is the ability to project such a bright high quality
image combined with ‘big’ audio that makes
events like these so effective and enjoyable for the
audience.’ |
